Year 12 Mathematics
In Year 12 you will study pure mathematics and statistics. You will meet ideas that have changed the course of history.
The Hungarian mathematician John von Neumann wrote the following about calculus:
'The calculus was the first achievement of modern mathematics and it is difficult to overestimate its importance. I think it defines more unequivocally than anything else the inception of modern mathematics, and still constitutes the greatest technical advance in exact thinking.'

What you should do in order to fulfil your potential and succeed in year 12:
Maths is not a spectator sport; you cannot learn maths by just watching or listening.
Be prepared – be ready to work hard and be resilient.
Reflect on what you can do better and how you can improve.
Go over the work covered during the lesson and practice and then practice some more.
Finally, you should remember that maths is the only subject you study that is an art, a science and worth studying for its own sake.

The more past papers you complete the higher grade you will achieve.
It is never too early to start working on past papers!
The best way to use past papers is as follows:
1. do the paper
2. if you get stuck, or need a hint, use the videos
3. mark the paper
4. watch the videos of any questions you didn't get full marks on
5. after a week, return to the questions you got wrong and try them again
